Indoor air pollution: an international health problem!
The quality of the indoor air we breathe is important for our health and well-being. The less dust and fewer allergens, micro-organisms and chemical contaminants we breathe in, the lower the risk of becoming unwell.
According to recent studies by the leading institutions WHO (World Health Organisation) and EPA (US Environmental Protection Agency), the indoor air in our living, working and mobility areas is often 2 to 5 and even up to 100 times more polluted than the air outside due to the biological and chemical load!
The problem is compounded by today’s method of energy-efficient construction. As a result, inadequate ventilation often causes undisturbed propagation of bacteria, viruses, house dust mites, mould, fine dust and pollen in our indoor spaces.
Given the increasing impact due to fine dust and pollutants, clean indoor air can no longer be taken for granted. The quality of breathing air has deteriorated markedly in recent years. Everywhere in our indoor spaces, bacteria, viruses, dust mites, mould, fine dust and pollen can spread undisturbed.
Reason enough to pay full attention to indoor air quality!

Clean Air Optima® Air Purifier DUAL Airflow System
Effective air cleaning in eight steps::
1. Two-way horizontal suction
Suction of polluted indoor air by the low-noise, powerful fan.
2. Intelligent Particle Sensor™
The built-in smart sensor measures and controls air quality fully automatically. The 3-speed fan automatically anticipates the measured PM2.5 level in terms of indoor air solids load.
3. Pre-filter
Two prefilters capture larger dust particles and other pollutants, such as pet hair and dander.
4. Two TRUE HEPA (H13) filters with nano silver coating
Both of these filters purify 99.97% of all suspended matter down to 0.3 micrometers (0.3 µm) from the air. The HEPA filter is the most effective air filter for removing: (fine) dust, allergens and other solid particles.
5. Two active carbon filters
Both active carbon filters effectively filter gases, chemicals, cigarette smoke, volatile organic compounds (VOC) and odors from indoor air.
6. Two UV-C LED Lamps
The lamp's ultraviolet light (UV-C radiation) with a wavelength of 254nm kills health-damaging microorganisms such as: germs, viruses, molds (mold spores) and bacteria. In addition, microorganisms that have accumulated in the device are destroyed.
7. DUO ionizer ozone-free DIN EN 60335-2-65
Two ionizers with a total capacity of > 4,000,000 negative ions / cm³ are dispersed throughout the room, neutralizing harmful substances and odors.
Negative ions attach themselves to dust particles, microorganisms and other unwanted substances in the air and bind them together. The particles thus become heavier than the air and fall down or are filtered out of the air by the air cleaner.
8. Purified air
Clean, healthy breathing air flows from the top of the air purifier into the indoor space.
Effectiveness Clean Air Optima® air purifiers
with CADR certification
The Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) effectiveness criterion determined in supplier-independent laboratory tests places both Clean Air Optima® CA-509Pro Smart and CA-510Pro Smart air purifiers at the forefront of indoor air quality improvement systems. The high-performance filter system in both units extracts micro-fine particles down to 0.3 microns (0.3 µm) from the air with 99.97% efficiency.
The CADR value indicates how effectively the air purifier filters particles such as smoke, dust and pollen from indoor air. This is measured by independent bodies in standard spaces up to 20.4m² and the resulting measured values range from 10 to 450 cubic feet of particle-free air per minute.
The CADR value of the Intelligent HEPA UV ionizer air purifier CA-509Pro Smart is 400 M³ of particle-free air/hour .
The intelligent high-end Clean Air Optima® CA-509Pro Smart air purifier provides the user with the assurance of healthy, pure breathing air in the indoor environment.
Intelligent Particle Sensor and digital monitor air purifier
The built-in smart sensor measures and controls air quality entirely automatically. The 3-speed fan automatically anticipates the indoor air load of solid particles as measured by the sensor.
The CA-509Pro Smart air purifier provides automatic and precise feedback on current air quality via the digital monitor by measuring PM2.5 level, temperature and humidity in the indoor space.
Particle measurement (PM 2.5) Air quality:
<80 Green - Good
80-150 Blue - Moderate
>150 Red - Poor
Particle measurement/Fine dust/PM2.5
Fine dust is a collective term for air pollution with particles small enough to be inhaled. Fine dust in the air can have harmful effects on health. In 1999/2008, the European Union laid down limits for PM10 fine dust (particulate matter with a particle size of approx. 10 microns) and PM2.5 (particulate matter with a particle size of approx. 2.5 microns).
The main source of fine dust, especially PM10, in the indoor environment is tobacco smoke. In addition, fine dust such as PM2.5 comes from open fireplaces, from baking and frying and vacuuming.
Measuring relative humidity and temperature
Key aspects for effective air cleaning: relative humidity between 40 - 60% and a room temperature of approx. 20 - 23° C in indoor spaces.
Extremely quiet
The brushless DC motor of the Clean Air Optima® air purifier CA-509Pro Smart is extremely quiet, energy-efficient and provides high-precision adjustment by controlling the air speed at your choice of 3 fan levels. Use and maintenance
Exterior and Intelligent Particle Sensor™ cleaning
Cleaning the outside of the air purifier:
1. Switch the unit off and pull the plug out of the socket.
2. Use a soft damp cloth to remove dust and dirt from the unit.
3. Make sure no water gets into the unit.
Cleaning Intelligent Particle Sensor™
Clean the air quality sensor every 6 to 8 weeks.
If the PM2.5 value shows a variation, dust on the sensor lens may be the cause.
Clean the sensor lens with a cotton bud:
1. Remove the cover from the sensor
2. Clean the sensor lens with a cotton bud and water as instructed in the manual. Then dry the lens with a clean cotton bud.
3. Replace the sensor cover.
4. Do not wipe the sensor lens with alcohol or any other organic solvent.
NB:
There is a risk of condensation on the air quality sensor if the humidity in the room is very high. This can cause the air quality indicator (Digital Display - Particle Measurement) to indicate incorrectly that the air quality is poor (which may not be the case). In this case, we recommend that you clean the air quality sensor or do not use the air purifier in automatic mode.
Cleaning and replacing filters
Replacing the composite TRUE HEPA and activated carbon filters:
The Clean Air Optima® CA-509Pro Intelligent Air Purifier is equipped with a filter service life monitoring mechanism that indicates that the filters must be replaced after 2,000 working hours. The indicator light on the air purifier will start flashing to show that the composite filters (HEPA + Activated Carbon Filter) must be replaced. Reset the timer for the composite filter by pressing and holding the Speed and Timer buttons (for around 3 seconds). The timer has been successfully reset once the indicator light goes out.
Depending on use, the filters must be replaced every 6/8 months.
Signs of expired filters: increased noise level, reduced airflow, clogged filter and increased presence of odours. The HEPA filter must be replaced with a new one if it changes colour from white to grey or black. The HEPA filter does NOT need to be replaced if it remains white.
For optimal effect, the permanent pre-filter in the Clean Air Optima® CA-509Pro Smart intelligent air purifier and the TRUE HEPA filters can be cleaned at monthly intervals with a soft brush or your vacuum cleaner (see CA-509Pro Smart air purifier manual).
Warning
Never wet or rinse the composite filters (HEPA + Activated Carbon Filter) with water.
