When choosing the right type of Clean Air Optima® 2in1 ultrasonic humidifier and 2in1 air washer, you should consider not only the size of the room. We give you an overview of the main factors that play a role in your choice of effective humidification in your desired rooms.
Room dimensions
Striving for balance in proportions. If the humidification capacity is too low for a room, the air will not be sufficiently humidified. If the humidification capacity is too high, the risk of mould increases. Powerful, fast and precise humidification requires a humidifier with a hygrostat for an automatic and well-balanced humidification.
Capacity determination 2in1 ultrasonic humidifier and 2in1 air washer system
There are no generally applicable guidelines for determining the capacity of a humidifier. Much more attention should be paid to data such as the size of the room where the humidifier will be installed, the temperature in this room, the furnishing and the number of people that may be in this room. Materials such as carpets, rugs, curtains, furniture and plants extract large amounts of moisture from indoor air. The type of heating of the room also plays an important role in determining the capacity of a humidifier. Rooms with a heater, fireplace or underfloor heating should be humidified more intensively than rooms with central heating.
Water filters
The water filter in the 2in1 ultrasonic humidifier and 2in1 air washer has an important function as it filters lime and bacteria from the water and prevents bad water odour. This ensures hygienic humidification, as these elements can no longer be added to the air. Good filters achieve as much as a 98 percent reduction in bacteria emissions.

Ultrasonic humidification with UV-C sterilisation
Clean Air Optima® ultrasonic humidifiers produce a fine mist through high-frequency
vibrations of the membrane in the water tank. The ultrasonic membrane converts water into cold micro-fine mist, which passes through the UV-C lamp for sterilisation and is then released to the interior via the spray opening. The UV-C lamp makes an additional contribution to eliminating bacteria and viruses, thereby preventing odour from the water.
Humidification with PTC heating element
Pressing the heating button of the ultrasonic humidifier activates the 'warm mist' function. This is shown on the LED display by three wavy vertical lines. The water in the water basin is heated by a PTC heating element, and is heated by over 65 degrees to effectively kill bacteria (Legionella). Preheating the water creates microfine mist emission for faster and more efficient humidification.
Hygrostat control:
The built-in hygrostat in the humidifier and air washer is a measuring device for automatic moisture measurement and humidity control in the room and ensures precise activation of the humidifier as soon as the humidity falls below the set target value.
Automatic mode
Functional modes such as automatic mode - sleep mode - baby mode and health mode offer many benefits by combining comfort with ease of operation. The various modes switch the humidifier on and off as needed, ensuring a constant humidity level and eliminating over-humidification.
Easy operation with the Clean Air Optima® App
Manage your systems hassle-free from any room. For example, adjust the desired humidity per device, check current humidity, set timetables, turn devices on or off and adjust settings. This not only is more efficient but also saves energy.
Noise level
A humidifier is not completely silent, but the noise made by Clean Air Optima® humidifiers and air washers is not exceptional either. By comparison, the noise level of a humidifier should remain within 25 dB(A) and no more than 40 dB(A). As a guide, the normal noise level in a room is around 50 dB(A).
Due to their particularly quiet operation, our Clean Air Optima® humidifiers and air washers are suitable for use in the bedroom or children's room as well as in offices, treatment rooms and all other areas where quiet operation is required of equipment.
Operation and effect of ionisation air purification
Ionisation air purification increases comfort and gives the feeling of breathing in natural fresh sea and mountain air. As in nature, this encourages real deep breathing and gives a fresh feeling. An integrated ioniser enriches the air with negatively charged ions. The ioniser in the Clean Air Optima® ultrasonic humidifier produces negative ions for air purification that are dispersed throughout the room, effectively neutralising pollutants and odours. The negative ions attach themselves to dust particles, micro-organisms and other undesired substances in the air and bind them together. This makes the particles heavier than the air, which then fall down. In this way, they are filtered out of the air, and their weight prevents them from floating again and being inhaled.

The Clean Air Optima® air washer system offers simultaneous effective humidification and air cleaning in your indoor spaces. The combination of four proven technologies, cold evaporation for humidification, air washing for purifying air, antibacterial water filter and activated carbon pre-filter, ensure a fresh and healthy indoor climate.
Top filling for easy and ergonomic filling of the water tank
The Clean Air Optima® range offers options for ergonomic tank filling. The Clean Air Optima® ultrasonic humidifier model Smart Top Filling with ioniser, UV-C lamp and aromatherapy consists of two parts: the lower part with the water basin and membrane and the removable upper part consisting of the 3.8-litre water tank. The water tank can be easily and quickly removed for filling with tap water under the tap. The humidifier can also be filled with water at the top (Top Filling).

Condensation:
If the humidity increases in rooms that are too dry, condensation may occur. The high-quality Clean Air Optima® humidifiers are equipped with efficient humidity control, allowing the humidity to be perfectly adjusted to the conditions. This allows humidification without condensation.
Hygienic and chemical-free humidification
Clean Air Optima® ultrasonic humidifiers and air washers work without any chemical additives. Harmful particles, bacteria and viruses present in the water are largely eliminated by the ultrasonic high-frequency vibrations. The material of the humidifiers that comes into contact with water has been treated with nano silver that makes an additional contribution to killing bacteria and preventing water odour.
Matching ceramic filters (W-02) or innovative granulate filters (W-01) ensure hygienic clean water misting as well as soften the water and reduce the risk of limescale formation, thereby reducing the risk of unwanted emission of lime particles into the room . The Clean Air Optima® Silver Ion SI-01 uses the antimicrobial action of silver. This prevents the growth of bacteria and odours in the water.
Limescale
Limescale, also known as calcium carbonate (CaCO3), forms during the processing of water in all household appliances. The cause is a chemical reaction between calcium and magnesium particles that react with hydrogen carbonate in the water to form calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate. These substances dissolve poorly in water, causing them to precipitate as limescale.
Water high in lime, which therefore contains many calcium and magnesium minerals, is called ‘hard water’ and water with little or no lime is called "soft water".
We generally express water hardness in terms of the number of German degrees (dH, deutsche Härte), where 1 dH equals 17.8 milligrams of CaCO3 (calcium carbonate) per litre of tap water.
Water hardness varies greatly by region and depends on the water supply source of your water company. In general, the hardness of tap water is practically above 2.7° dH. Above that, the particles in hard water begin to deposit and limescale forms in all appliances that process water.
Advice The ideal water hardness for use in all appliances that process water is simply 0 dH. Without a trace of lime. Distilled water has 0° dH. Using distilled water in a humidifier prevents limescale, but is relatively expensive compared to tap water.
To reduce limescale formation in the ultrasonic humidifiers, preferably use soft cold tap water, filtered soft low-lime tap water from a water filter jug (e.g. from the well-known Brita® Water Filter Jugs) of maximum 3 - 4°dH, or distilled water with 0°dH.
When it comes to limescale, prevention is better than cure. The effect of the high-quality water filters in Clean Air Optima® ultrasonic humidifiers and air washers, the timely replacement of these water filters and the regular use of the high-quality Clean Air Optima® Cleaner & Descaler, specially developed for use in our humidifiers, reduce the risk of limescale formation to an absolute minimum.

Distinguishing features of the different types of humidifier systems:
- Clean Air Optima® ultrasonic humidifiers produce a fine mist through high-frequency vibrations of the membrane in the water tank.
- Clean Air Optima® air washersevaporate the water by means of a rotor with humidifying discs: this rotor rotates slowly like a wheel through the water bath at the bottom. The Clean Air Optima® air washer systems CA-807 and CA-803 simultaneously provide effective humidification and air purification in your indoor space. Both air washers CA-807 and CA-803 are equipped with a hygrostat for automatic humidification control, has settings for day operation and whisper quiet (night) operation with dimming displays in sleep mode. Its particularly quiet operation makes this unique system suitable for use in areas where quiet operation is required of equipment. These include the bedroom or children's room as well as offices, meeting and consultation rooms, and treatment rooms in medical practices.
Mode of operation of hybrid system of Clean Air Optima® air washers CA-807 and CA-803
Both these air washers operate without filter mats. The contaminated and dry indoor air drawn in by the fan is first passed through the activated carbon pre-filter and then over the rotor with humidifying discs rotating in the water bath. The humidifying discs have a honeycomb structure for intensive humidification. The pre-filtered air is washed and cleaned naturally, similar to a rainstorm or waterfall.
The smallest particles of up to 10 micrometres are bound and separated in the water. This humidifies the air and frees it from dust, pollen and particle-bound odours that can no longer be released to the indoor air. The 3-position adjustable fan airflow carries the moist and clean air into the interior via the top of the unit.
The air washer technology used is suitable for soft tap water and has no risk of emitting unwanted lime particles into the room.
